Smart Lemming Diary: Promotion to VP of Marketing
March 2, 2006
This week has been crazy. My CEO sent out this wonderful note to the company announcing my title change.
I am pleased to announce that Lori has accepted the position of Vice President of Marketing. Since August of last year, Lori has served as Director of Marketing. This change is being made to reflect increased responsibilities that Lori is taking on in the areas of marketing, sales support and channel management.
Lori and her team have done a great job of developing a comprehensive marketing program that we all benefit from in terms of increased visibility and sales for our company.
Please join me in welcoming Lori to her new role.
My CEO’s partner wanted to share her two cents on my promotion. She sent me a nice email to let me know:
I wanted to do more than a quick congrats on your promotion. It is a well deserved move based on the contributions you’ve made and the skills you bring to our company. Your new role in providing sales oversight is so important to our success. I’m glad that you’re taking that on. I know you’ll bring new order and accountability to the process.
I love your attitude, your work ethic, and your intelligence. We’re very lucky to have you at our company!
It’s unusual to find a company with an exceptional boss you admire, a management team that you have fun with, employees you can count on, and a product that you love. I’ve been fortunate for find all four.
