23 Ways to be Happy at Work: #22 - Let it go
Work can be annoying. It can make us frustrated and angry. Do you feel that you’re pulled in several directions at once from numerous stakeholders? Do you feel like you don’t have control in your job? Learn how to let go of these things so you can be happier at work.
Make a list of things that bug you, ranging from the actual job, colleagues, boss, and management team. Next, identify what you can change and what you can’t change. Finally, identify those things that you can influence and what things are out of your control.
Review the lists, determining the things that you must let go of because you cannot change or influence them for the better. Commit to changing or influencing the things that you can. Let go of the things that are out of your control. Once you stop holding on the frustration and anger, you’ll realize that some things just are as they are. Learn the mantra, “It is what it is,” and you’ll be happier at work.
